The alleged corruption of 2 thousand billion rupees of DG Civil Aviation has come to light


The alleged corruption of DG Civil Aviation (CAA) Khaqan Murtaza and his team came to light.

According to Express News, the CAA Officers/Employees Association has written a letter to the Minister of Aviation and the Secretary Aviation to inform that Khaqan Murtaza and his team have allegedly caused a loss of 2 thousand billion rupees to Pakistan.

In the text of the letter, it is said that Khaqan Murtaza is not qualified to be the director general of CAA, he has no sufficient experience in the aviation industry, while there is a fear of further damage to the organization by his leadership.

In the letter, it is said that DGCAA has caused irreparable damage to the national airline on the issue of fake licensing, Lahore Walton Airport has caused a loss of Rs. The instruction was ignored.

Apart from this, the possession of the airport land could not be released, due to non-recovery of which more than 1300 billion was lost. Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has failed to recover the arrears of more than 300 billion while Karachi Airport National Airlines has lost 10 billion in lease amount.

The letter further states that due to the non-cooperation of DGCAA, more than 100 officers and employees have approached the court while illegally registering 2 Land Cruisers including one Prado against DGCAA.

During his tenure, close friends and dear relatives were appointed on contract at various positions in CAA, other organizations at the airport were not taken into confidence on the issue of outsourcing, while the attitude of disinterest was taken on the issue of pensioners.

The letter requested that the case against the DGCAA be referred to the FIA, however the matter may be investigated.

Stand by DG Civil Aviation

On the other hand, on the letter written by the Officers/Employees Association to the Minister of Aviation and the Secretary Aviation, the position has come out. They say that the allegations of the officers are baseless and contrary to facts.

DG Civil Aviation said that a campaign was launched against them due to merit-based policies, alleging officers involved in corrupt practices. Cases against corrupt officials are pending in FIA, against whom FIA is investigating.

He said that civil aviation has the authority not to give an inch of land to anyone, actions will continue against corrupt officers in the institution.
