The new revelation is that Taiwan has announced a $165 grant to individual tourists who want to spend their holidays there. On the other hand, the tourists coming in the form of groups will also be given money so that they can visit here.
On Thursday, Taiwan's Prime Minister has officially announced that this year the government wants a total of 6 million tourists to visit the island and has also committed to increase this number to 10 million by 2025.
According to the new announcement, the first 500,000 tourists will be given $165 per person and $658 per group in the 90,000 tourist group. However, instead of cash, it will be in the form of a digital currency that can be used for transport, accommodation and food.
Taiwan said it wants to attract tourists from Macau, Europe, the US, as well as Japan and South Korea. However, in the year 2022, only 9 lakh tourists came here from America, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam etc. While much earlier in 2019, one crore tourists came here, the number of which is being tried to be restored.
