Contempt of court proceedings against Imran Khan declared inadmissible

Lahore: Imran Khan, chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf, was the target of a contempt of court case that the High Court ruled was inadmissible.

A hearing was held on the petitions for contempt of court proceedings, upon which the court upheld the office objection and declared the petitions inadmissible.

The court said that Imran Khan's statements in Badi Nazaar are about the judge of the Supreme Court, how can the petitions be heard in the Lahore High Court.

The Office High Court had objected to the admissibility of the petition and the Office High Court directed the petitioner to approach the Supreme Court. It was objected that the Judges could not be made parties to the petition.

The petitioner had challenged the objection of the Office High Court. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan heard Mashkoor Ahmed's objection petition in which Imran Khan was made a party.

In the petition, it was stated that a systematic campaign is being conducted against the judiciary under the leadership of Imran Khan.

Similarly, Imran Khan appeared in court with jathas on his appearance in Lahore High Court and Islamabad but appearing in court while damaging government buildings and shouting slogans is contempt of court. There was a planned attack on the judicial complex of Islamabad, the mastermind of which was Imran Khan, Imran Khan called the workers to the judicial complex to pressurize the judiciary.

In the petition, it was requested that the Lahore High Court should take contempt of court proceedings against Imran Khan, the court should summon Imran Khan in the court and answer.
