Lahore: The spokesman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has claimed that one PTI worker was killed and many others were injured due to the alleged torture and shelling by the Punjab Police.

In a statement issued by the PTI spokesperson, it has been stated that due to police violence and shelling, several workers were injured, some of them are in critical condition, while one worker died on reaching Bilal Hospital. According to PTI spokesman, Bilal was beaten on the head by the police.

A video of the slain activist was also released by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and claimed that Bilal was present outside the Zaman Park some time ago. 

2 DSPs, SHO and 11 officials injured in violence by PTI workers, one in critical condition

On the other hand, in a statement issued by the spokesperson of Punjab Police, it has been said that during the riots against PTIA in the city, many police personnel were seriously injured while controlling law and order, one of whom is in critical condition.

According to sources, eleven officials including two DSPs were injured due to the violence of PTI workers. The injured include DSP Sabzazar, DSP Township while SHO Hanjarwal was also injured by stone pelting.

Apart from this, constables Irfan, Nadeem, Bilal, Waqar, Abdul Sattar, Ali Asmat, Sikandar, Ali Hamza are also among the injured. Bilal was killed, IG and CCP will file a case against Imran Khan

Imran Khan, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf expressed his regret over the death of the worker and said that our unarmed, valiant and enthusiastic worker Ali Bilal was martyred by the Punjab Police. 

He wrote that Pakistan is currently in the clutches of bloodthirsty criminals, we will register the case of the worker's murder in IG Punjab and CCP. Bilal was killed in police custody. Chief Minister Punjab's notice, order to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, taking strict notice of the alleged death of a citizen in the riots, ordered an immediate investigation and directed to submit a complete and impartial report.

The Chief Minister directed that whoever is found involved in the incident, the requirements of justice should be fulfilled under the law. The videos shown by PTI are not of today but of the old and jail-filled movement. This video is a deliberate lie. While the man was reportedly in police custody, CCTV footage revealed that the deceased was dropped off at Services Hospital by a private vehicle.

The spokesperson of MS Services Hospital said that the citizen was dead when he was brought to the hospital, a deep incision was made on the deceased's head, the post-mortem was not conducted at Services Hospital because the procedure was performed at Lahore General Hospital or Mian Munshi Hospital. Is.

The spokesman said that further medical opinion regarding the death can be given after the post-mortem.

Police action

Earlier, after the implementation of Section 144 by the Punjab government, heavy police force was present on Mall Road to stop the rally of Tehreek-e-Insaaf. All roads leading to Zaman Park from Canal Road were closed. The Punjab Interior Department imposed Section 144 in Lahore and imposed a ban on public gatherings, processions and rallies. The ban was imposed in view of the poor traffic and security situation in Lahore, the implementation of which will start from today and will continue for the next 7 days.

The police closed the roads leading to Zaman Park and the road from Mall Road towards the canal was also closed. The police detained several PTI workers for violating Section 144 and also broke the windows of the workers' vehicles.

Clashes also took place between police and PTI workers. The police used shelling and water cannon to push back the PTI workers. PTI workers pelted stones at the police.

Later, the police opened the road leading to Zaman Park on the intervention of PTI workers, removed the containers on Mall Road and Jail Road and also restored the flow of traffic from the underpass on Canal Road.
