The Election Commission rejected the request to remove Imran Khan from the party leadership

Islamabad: The Election Commission rejected the petition to remove PTI Chairman Imran Khan from the party leadership.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the case. Petitioner Muhammad Afaq Advocate appeared before the Election Commission while Imran Khan submitted his reply before the Election Commission.

During the hearing, lawyer Imran Khan Barrister Gohar said that the Lahore High Court has also issued an injunction on the matter while the High Court has restrained the Election Commission from issuing any order against Imran Khan.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that the High Court has stopped the commission from the final decision and not from the hearing, to which Barrister Gohar Khan said that I am not asking for the order to stop the hearing.

Petitioner Afaq Ahmed said that the Election Commission has been sending me wrong notices and Ishaq Dar's notices are also being sent to me.

The Chief Election Commissioner rebuked Afaq Ahmed and said that he should not point a finger at anyone, keep his voice down and talk only about the case. Afaq Ahmed said that who is responsible for receiving the notice after the hearing? The Chief Election Commissioner said what do you want to say? Afaq Ahmed said I say what you want to hear.

The Chief Election Commissioner ordered the petitioner to be taken out of the court. Afaq Ahmed was pushed out by the policemen. The Chief Election Commissioner dismissed the petition to remove Imran Khan as PTI chief.

In the reply submitted in the party leadership case, Imran Khan said that the Election Commission de-seated the reference filed by the Speaker and after being de-seated, he also contested the National Assembly election. The Lahore High Court has stopped the Election Commission from making a final decision and to stop wasting time, the hearing should be stopped until the decision of the High Court.

In the Panama case against Nawaz Sharif, the Supreme Court gave a declaration of disqualification, but no forum gave any declaration of disqualification against Imran Khan, he can be removed from the party leadership only after the declaration of disqualification. Dismiss the removal case.
