My intention is not to say that there are no black sheep or corrupt people in this institution, but it is also a fact that these policemen, whom we give various negative names, are not as bad as the society thinks against them. Is. But it is also true that one of the main reasons for this infamy must be the corrupt people whose actions are punished by everyone else.

The tragedy of our society is that if a police officer treats a single person unfairly or misbehaves, instead of complaining about it, the whole institution or all the people in their community are started to be blamed. Do you know that the number of police deaths in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased to 119 compared to last year, which was 54 in 2021 and 21 in 2020. Apart from this, around 102 police personnel have sacrificed their lives so far this year, most of whom were martyred in the recent bomb blast at the Police Line Mosque in Peshawar.

Police is also an easy target for terrorists because police personnel are directly present in public places to maintain public service and law and order, so terrorists can easily target police personnel. Unfortunately, the police do not have adequate resources to fight against such powerful elements, and this is also one of the reasons why terrorists escape easily after attacking the police.

On the one hand, where the police are facing terrorism, they also have to deal with the increasing unrest in the society, robberies, murders, thefts, and various criminal activities. In this regard, SSP Tanveer Tanyu said in the Sindh High Court, "Crime professionals have modern weapons with which they kidnap people and subject them to brutal torture for ransom, so if the police are also given modern weapons with resources. In contrast to all this, it is also an open fact that the common man has a lot of complaints against the Pakistani police because instead of giving them justice, people with political influence are always preferred in the police station, even without the recommendation or bribe of a poor man. Such people exist not only in the police but in every institution. Incompetence and negligence of complaint cells or public relations officers established in police offices and misconduct of police officers are also included in this stigma. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has a verified official account on twitter whose bio has a toll free number along with a whatsapp number for direct complaints or calls but when you contact these numbers there is no response at all. While the situation is the same with the Twitter account, no response or notice is taken from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. The limitation is that the usernames of the social media accounts given in a poster issued by the Dera Ismail Khan Police Office, there is no such account on the usernames listed in this poster and if someone creates a Twitter account. Even if there is air, it is not fully functional. Even in this modern era, people who do not even know the difference between a full name and a specific name (username) have been entrusted with the responsibility of running the media cell in such important government offices.

Similarly, there are public relations officers and media cells in the police system from Sindh to Rawalpindi and from Balochistan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the majority of them are not even familiar with social media. In this case, Islamabad Capital Police and some circles of Punjab Police, not only from their official account. Direct public complaints are heard but their superiors are also present on social media to communicate directly with people.

Senior police officers should not only create their own social media accounts to directly listen to public issues, but also activate the media cell within the department and appoint people who are experts in handling this important responsibility to interact with the public. May the relationship last and their problems be resolved immediately.
